About Arundel Lodge

History

In 1975 Arundel Lodge was founded by a group of concerned parents whose adult children with behavioral health disorders did not have a place to receive appropriate treatment once released from institutional care. The government policy, created in 1955, moved individuals out of state psychiatric hospitals but had no plan in place for the patients once released.

Today we are one of the most well-known integrated treatment centers for those with mental health and substance use disorders in the area. We treat over 3000 community members annually and are considered a Center for Excellence in Recovery as well as being CARF accredited. We are hope… re-imagined.

By using the Recovery Model, rooted in the philosophy of treating individuals with respect and recognizing their unique strengths, interests and goals, we encourage individuals to make their own decisions about treatment through education and linkages; and we facilitate opportunities for social interaction, creative expression and community involvement. We serve Anne Arundel County and beyond.
