Marcus Youth and Family Center

Overview

The developmental years offer critical opportunities for interventions that can significantly influence the trajectory of a person’s life.

At the Marcus Youth and Family Center at Arundel Lodge, younger children are provided a safe and supportive environment to express themselves and build trusting relationships with our therapists in the Play Therapy Room.

Who We Serve:

  • Children from newborn through 17 years of age and their families
  • Spanish-speaking therapists are available for our Spanish-speaking youth and their families.
  • ASL-trained therapist available for deaf and hard-of-hearing youth and their families

Services We Provide:

  • Psychiatric screening and assessments
  • Medication evaluation, management, and monitoring
  • Person-centered treatment planning for recovery
  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Play Therapy
  • Transition and discharge planning
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Latin/Spanish-speaking therapists available
  • Fluent ASL therapist available for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals
  • Referrals and connections to outside services

Referrals Can Be Made By:

  • Parents or Family
  • Healthcare Providers
  • Schools
  • Social Services Agencies
  • Court Systems
  • Law Enforcement
  • Clergy
  • Self-referrals (16 years of age and older only)

*Children under 12 years of age must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian, unless they qualify as unaccompanied homeless youth under the McKinney-Vento Act.

For adolescents and teens, we offer the option to meet with therapists one-on-one or participate in Group Therapy. Our comfortable, welcoming spaces are designed to facilitate healing, guidance, and positive peer support. Group Therapy for adolescents and teens is particularly effective in reducing the incidence of depression, anxiety, and conduct disorders.
