Drug & Alcohol Program
The First Step Substance Abuse Program at Arundel Lodge is certified by the State of Maryland to offer three levels of outpatient care: Early Intervention, Outpatient Services, and Intensive Outpatient Services. Additionally, we provide medication-assisted treatment to support recovery.
Arundel Lodge’s Drug & Alcohol Program provides supportive, person-centered care for individuals seeking help with substance use. Guided by the Recovery Model, our approach focuses on each individual’s strengths, goals, and readiness for change while promoting dignity, respect, and long-term wellness.
We understand that recovery looks different for everyone. Our team works closely with each person to create a plan that supports their unique needs and helps them build a healthier, more stable future.
Services Offered
We offer a range of substance use services, which may include:
- Group Therapy: Structured groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and skill-building
- Individual Counseling: One-on-one support to address personal challenges and goals
- Medication Support: Coordination with providers for medication-assisted treatment (when appropriate)
- Recovery Planning: Personalized plans to support long-term recovery
- Education & Skill Building: Topics such as coping skills, triggers, stress management, and healthy decision-making
- Referrals & Connections: Access to higher levels of care, detox programs, or community resources as needed
Who We Serve
Services are available to adults ages 18 and older seeking support for substance use or co-occurring mental health concerns.
Group Schedule
DUI Education Program (First-Time Offenders)
A structured program designed to meet legal requirements while supporting behavior change.
- Program Length: 12 weeks
- Insurance Accepted: Medicaid, Medicare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
Outpatient Substance Use Groups
Flexible group treatment focused on recovery and relapse prevention.
- Schedule: 1 hour per week for approximately 6 months
- Insurance Accepted: Medicaid, Medicare, and BCBS (copays may apply)
- Drug Testing: Random (weekly or monthly, based on clinical need)
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
A higher level of care for individuals needing more structured support.
- Schedule: 3 hours per week
- Insurance Accepted: Medicaid, Medicare, and BCBS (copays may apply)
- Drug Testing: Weekly
Drug Testing Services
- Insurance: Can be billed through Medical Assistance or private insurance
- Self-Pay: $40 per rapid test
Insurance & Payment
Arundel Lodge accepts a variety of insurance plans. Our team will review your coverage during intake and explain any copays or financial responsibilities prior to starting services.
How to Access Services
No referrals are required.
To begin services, clients may walk in for an intake at our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic during intake hours. Intakes are completed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Walk-In Intake Hours:
Monday – Friday
9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
If capacity is reached for the day, you will still be registered and scheduled for the next available intake appointment within a few business days.
Please bring the following:
- Photo ID
- Insurance Card
- Social Security Number
These items are required to complete your intake and schedule ongoing services.
